Letters to the Editor
The Banner welcomes Letters to the Editor which may be mailed, emailed or published via web comment or Letter submission. Letters must be signed with name, address and phone information for the purpose of verification. We reserve the right to edit or omit letters. If placing a Letter to the Editor via web comments, please be sure to start the comment with Letter to Editor and sign as described above.
Obituaries
It is the policy of the Hillsboro Banner to publish free obituaries submitted to the newspaper by funeral homes and individuals. Obituaries may be edited to fit available space. Good quality photos will be reprinted. There is no charge for a standard obituary.
If a family wishes for an obituary to contain specific wording or details, they may do so through paid advertising. Paid obituaries will also be posted in their entirety to the Obiturary section of the online Banner.
