Banner takes home General Excellence award in 2000, 2001 & 2003
The Hillsboro Banner was one of five newspapers receiving General Excellence awards at the conclusion of the 114th meeting of the North Dakota Newspaper Association in Minot Saturday, April 29, 2000 and the 115th meeting April 21, 2001 in Bismarck.
The Banner was named the best newspaper in the division of weekly papers with a circulation of 1,000 to 2,000.
Neil O. Nelson and Michelle McLean of the Banner have received numerous awards for their writing efforts and the introduction of the Hillsboro Banner’s website has taken home awards for original web design developed by Angela Kritzberger.
