The 16-unit assisted living complex will be opening in a matter of weeks, Aug. 1 to be exact, she understands this.

Brick by brick.
Bricks that once supported a theater in Fessenden until a collapsing roof claimed the entire structure are re-enforcing the outside back wall on Union Block in Hillsboro.
The re-bricking on Union Block, which was started last week, will resume next week, according to Bruce Person, of the Hillsboro Community Partnership committee. Nelson Masonry, Grand Forks, has been contracted to complete the job.
The gift of the bricks was an unexpected windfall, said Person.
Hillsboro’s friends of downtown learned of the available bricks in Fessenden from Nancy Bollingberg, daughter of Duane and Shirley Nysveen. Bollingberg lives in Fessenden. (more…)

Terry Olson will cut short his 4th of July celebration so he can get a good night’s sleep.
He’s got to be on the job early Saturday morning.
As project manager of the Hwy. 200 reconstruction project for Kadrmas, Lee & Jackson, Olson is pushing contractors and their crews to get back on schedule.
Construction, which started in mid-May, is about a month behind schedule, Olson estimated. (more…)

The Central Valley-Hillsboro Bluesox American Legion baseball team lost to Hatton-Northwood last Friday after leading 21-2.
Hatton-Northwood won the seven-inning game played at Reynolds by a 28-25 score.
The CV-H Bluesox scored 13 runs in the bottom of the third inning to grab a seemingly insurmountable 21-2 lead. Hatton-Northwood stormed back, scoring 11 runs in the fourth inning and seven more runs in each of the fifth and seventh innings.
“It was an absolute barnburner between two good baseball teams,” said Bluesox manager Mark Rerick.
The wild game with H-N capped a week that saw the Sox score 61 runs in three games.
Also last week, the Sox beat Casselton twice and split with Thompson.
Hillsboro’s Jake Olsen went 4-4 in the Hatton-Northwood loss, scoring four runs.
Dusty Brend was 4-6 with five runs-batted-in.
The Sox banged out 27 hits.
