District 20 Democrats endorsed three candidates for the state Legislature at their district convention Sunday in Mayville.
Two incumbents — Senator Elroy Lindaas and Representative Lee Kaldor, both of Mayville — were endorsed for re-election. Rick Holman, Mayville, was endorsed for the House. He hopes to fill the seat soon vacated by Rep. Ole Aarsvold , Blanchard, who will not seek re-election after 20 years in the Legislature.
The convention also chose 28 delegates to the state Democratic-NPL convention April 4-6 in Grand Forks.
They are Ole and Marilyn Aarsvold, Blanchard; Orland and Carol Niemeier, Buxton; Ron and Ilene Kyllo, Galesburg; Doug and Beth Melby, Larry Mueller and Cheri Goertz, Hillsboro; Ken and Sharon Kroeplin and Randy and Carmen Richards, Hope; Kermit and Carol Siegert and John Halland, Hunter; Lee and Cynthia Kaldor, Rick and Marilyn Holman, Mike Gibson, Bill and Sandy Brudvik and Elroy Lindaas, Mayville; and Phil Murphy and Lee and Sheryl Vinje, Portland.
Twenty-eight alternates were also chosen including Charles and Mary Hanson, David and Dorothea Hetland and Rosalie Anderson, Hillsboro.
District 20 consists of all of Traill County, plus portions of Barnes, Cass and Steele counties.
