One of Krystal Abentroth’s first customers Tuesday was her grandmother, Avis Olson, of rural Shelly.
Her father, David Bjorge, from this side of the Red River at Climax, was actually her first customer.
She anticipates both her grandmother and father will be regular customers at Beautique on the avenue.
Two of many, Krystal hopes.
Owner-operator Krystal Abentroth this week opened Beautique on the avenue, a full-service family salon adjacent Hillsboro’s Pizza Ranch.
The newest downtown business will be open Tuesdays and the first the first Saturday of every month.
Krystal, a Climax, Minn. high school graduate and the daughter of David and Lenora Bjorge, rural Buxton, is married to Mitchell Abentroth, a Hillsboro homebuilder. The Abentroths live in Hillsboro.
While her salon opened in Hillsboro this week, Krsytal will continue working at the Casa Bella Salon in South Fargo.
The Oct. 2001 cosmetology graduate has also worked at Hair Success in Fargo.
Her Hillsboro salon is located in the downtown building built by her father-in-law, Douglas Abentroth. Traill County Housing Authority and Erica Kritzberger’s Essential Kneads massage business are located in the same building.
Krystal said she is “excited” about opening her own salon. “This will be nice, getting to know Hillsboro and the people better.”
Avis Olson knows it’s nice having her granddaughter working closer to home.
