All eyes were on Hillsboro’s busiest intersection Tuesday when NDDOT officials counted traffic at the four-way stop for 12 hours. In a concerted effort to draw attention to the need for the controlled intersection, local drivers made sure the street was on their route that day. Fair spring weather allowed school children to walk downtown for phy ed and be counted among the foot traffic using the intersection. DOT officials have not yet released the results of the count but judging from the steady flow of two-wheel, four-wheel, 18-wheel and two-footed traffic, the numbers should prove the four-way stop is warranted.
